Our final Home Design

Image
After the Selections appointment, We have our Final plans! After review of these plans, we signed the contract with McDonald Jones. Now it is the waiting game with the council to Get our Building approval. From other peoples experience, this can take up to 10 weeks here in Goulburn. Fingers crossed for a quick turn around. The only minor changes that were made to this plan is the position of the brick stack, as Mcdonald Jones changed their design plan. This is something we were happy with as it meant the addition of a bigger window to the 2nd bedroom with no extra charge. We can not wait to see these plans come to life. These plans include Sketches of the Kitchen, ensuite, Bathroom, Laundry and powder-room layouts:

Electrical Selections

Tuesday 9th April 2019 This was our third and final Selections appointment. Doing the electricals was a good experience it really makes you think about the flow of the house. Where are you going to enter a room and want to turn on alight? are there multiple points in which you want to turn off a light? it was a nice way to start getting a feel for the house. We had done our research going into this appointment and had a strong idea of what we wanted so we found this appointment to be very enjoyable and loved getting the chance to completely make the house our own. Flooring- We really wanted a wooden floor but where hesitant as we know how easy it is to mark and scratch. We considered a wood effect tile (they look amazing) but didn't want such a cold floor for in winter. But we found a solution to our dilemma Hybrid laminex in Classic oak brown... it is scratch proof waterproof and looks and feels just like wood, with less maintenance needed. And after reading many reviews we were sold. this is throughout the house minus wet areas (which I'll get too) and the master suite and Theater room. In the Master and Theater rooms, we chose a mid pile Godfrey Hurst Eco+ Carpet in Quarry 716. Very soft and cozy and easy to clean if(when) something gets spilled. And in the wet ar
