Internal Selections
Tuesday 2nd April 2019
We did our Internal selections.
We had done our research going into this appointment and had a strong idea of what we wanted so we found this appointment to be very enjoyable and loved getting the chance to completely make the house our own.
Flooring-
We really wanted a wooden floor but where hesitant as we know how easy it is to mark and scratch. We considered a wood effect tile (they look amazing) but didn't want such a cold floor for in winter. But we found a solution to our dilemma Hybrid laminex in Classic oak brown... it is scratch proof waterproof and looks and feels just like wood, with less maintenance needed. And after reading many reviews we were sold. this is throughout the house minus wet areas (which I'll get too) and the master suite and Theater room.
In the Master and Theater rooms, we chose a mid pile Godfrey Hurst Eco+ Carpet in Quarry 716. Very soft and cozy and easy to clean if(when) something gets spilled.
And in the wet areas, we kept the same tile throughout. We did have our heart set on one in particular tile but because of our luck, it had just been discontinued the month before. But we did find another tile that had the same lovely stone grain running through it. It is the Stone Systems Charcoal Matt. 300x600mm on the walls and 300x300mm on the floor. We also opted for 'smart tiles' as the floors drainage points.
Okay so now let's go by room-
Kitchen-
Okay, so the kitchen is a major feature of the house for us, as its one of the first things you see when entering the house and you spend the most time in the kitchen.
We increased the size of the kitchen island to 3000x1200mm and added a different facia that gave the island larger Pillers for the legs and a proud kickboard that makes the island much more of a feature... I cant wait to see it completed. So we can keep the clean aesthetic of the island, we integrated the dishwasher.
We also added a double wall oven tower on the wall next to the fridge that gives us 8 extra draws and 2 extra 600mm ovens.
We upgraded all the kitchen cabinetry to the 2-pack colonial square profile. Adding 4 glass cabinets, 2 either side of the extractor hood.
As for colours-
Overhead Cabinetry- Classic White Satin Finish
Underbench Cabinetry- Classic White Satin Finish
Oven Towers
Cupboard Profile
Ensuite Bathroom-
You saw the tiles before so I won't list them again. We Added a Second shower head to the shower to make it a twin shower. We also extended the tiles to the ceiling in the shower, we also added a 1500mm wide recess shelf. We have a floating vanity with twin sinks and 20mm Caesarstone, Turbine Grey benchtop with Polytec Black Wenge Matt cabinetry. Each sink has its own mirror hung above.
Main Bathroom-
We opted for a freestanding bath anded a small shower recess into the shower. Again we have the floating vanity with 20 mm Ceaserstones Raven benchtop and polytec's, Jamaican Walnut Matt. In here the mirror extends from above the vanity right across the wall above the bath. We carried these colour choices through into the powder room.
Laundry Room-
In the laundry, we extended the benchtop to 2300mm wide to allow for the washing machine and tumble dryer to go underneath, we also added a 1500mm wide overhead cabinet for extra storage. The overhead and under bench Cabinetry is Polytec's Black Wenge Matt. The Bench will be Polytec's Raven 4120. And the Backsplash will be White subway tile in herringbone format.
